For the record, who's answering the interview?
COVER ONE EYE
Trevor: We have all three of us here.
Noah: Yeah.

ATP
What is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?
COVER ONE EYE
Trevor: We’re Cover One Eye.
Noah: So basically, Trevor and I were in the woods. We were going to a graveyard, and I was watching Bear Grylls and learned that you can cover one eye to see better in the dark. My mom’s boyfriend was like “Cover one eye! Aw, that’d be a sweet name for a band!”, so we stole it.
Trevor: When you cover one eye, you change your perspective. That’s kind of what we want people to do. We’re all 15. People look at us and think “Hah, they’re kids. That’s cute.” We want people to basically have an open mind. It’s about bigger things than us too. Have an open mind. Change your perspective. Cover One Eye.

ATP
So who's in the band and what instruments do you each play?
COVER ONE EYE
Trevor: Hi, I’m Trevor! I play drums and sing in Cover One Eye.
Noah: I’m Noah, and I play lead/rhythm guitar as well as unclean vocals.
Kenzie: I’m Kenzie, I play bass.

ATP
How would you describe your sound. What makes you unique?
COVER ONE EYE
Trevor: We have a very high energy sound.
Noah: Very high energy.
Trevor: We really like to make songs that are heavy, but are also upbeat.
Noah: Okay, I can compare our music to... have you ever put a fork in a blender?
Kenzie: People aren’t gonna wanna listen to us now.

ATP
What bands have influenced each of you?
COVER ONE EYE
Trevor: We all like a lot of different stuff, but we’ve all kind of morphed together. Lyrically, I’m influenced by bands like Stick To Your Guns, The Color Morale, basically any band with a good message and meaningful songs. Musically, I listen to everything from smooth jazz to death metal, so my musical influences come from everywhere.
Kenzie: The band that influences me the most is Sick Puppies, because their bassist is really good.

ATP
How experienced are you on the stage, a virgin or whore?
COVER ONE EYE
Trevor: As a band, we’ve kind of grown and become more experienced together.
Noah: We know our way around a stage, and we might have a hard time on new stages, but once we play on that stage, by our first or second song, we’re good with it.
Trevor: You gotta break it in. You gotta literally break the stage. We like playing on floors.

ATP
How would you describe your shows?
COVER ONE EYE
Noah: High energy.
Trevor: We really try to get people to go our shows. We harass our friends, like, “hey, go to this show!”. Sometimes we’re the only band on the bill that a lot of people will go to see, which is weird, but it feels good.

ATP
Tell us about your favorite show and why?
COVER ONE EYE
Trevor: We played a show in November. There weren’t a lot of people there, and for pretty much every other band, people would be sitting down and the singer would be like, “C’mon, everyone get to the front!” and there would be no reaction. As soon as we go on, we start our set, we play our intro, and then we play the first chord of Experts Say. All the lights go on, and usually I have to like, persuade people to get closer to the stage, but this time, I looked out, and EVERYONE was standing. I was like “Oh my god.” There was applause, it was crazy, I couldn’t believe it.
Noah: My favorite show was our most recent one, December 14th. We were playing at this club that we play at quite a bit and there were some really good bands. They were a lot of fun and they really got the crowd moving. It was good to just sit and talk to them too.
Kenzie: I really liked the November show because we had a really good spot in the lineup for the first time ever.

ATP
Tell us about your worst show and why?
COVER ONE EYE
Noah: I really, really hated this one place we played at last June. The PA was horrible, the monitors didn’t work, and they had one mic for the drums, it was disgusting.
Trevor: My least favorite show was our second show as a band. I don’t remember exactly what went wrong, but I remember after our set, I just felt really bad about our performance.
Kenzie: Yeah, it was that show for me too. Because like, we just messed everything up. There was at least one huge mistake in every song. Especially this song we covered, the end was just so bad. We were basically playing random chords.

Tell Us About Your Dream Show, who you'd like to play with and where?
COVER ONE EYE
Noah: I’m going first.
Trevor: Okay.
Noah: My dream show would be at Madison Square Garden with A Day to Remember, Chiodos, and Stick To Your Guns. That’d be beautiful.
Trevor: My dream show would definitely be with Crown The Empire and let live. Also, David Bowie. I don’t know where this would be. Actually, I just want this to happen in my basement.
Kenzie: I want Silverchair to get back together so that we could play with them and Sick Puppies. Anywhere in Australia, like really, anywhere. It could be at a public restroom for all I care, just as long as it’s in Australia.
Noah: You know Kenzie, in this economy, they’d have to get back together as Bronze Chair. *cue sitcom laugh track*

ATP
Do you have a street team and how can you join?
COVER ONE EYE
Noah and Kenzie together: What’s a street team?
Trevor: Clearly, we don’t have a street team. But we’re all active in promoting ourselves on Facebook and Twitter and we encourage people to help us out and spread the word.

ATP
Do you have a record label and if not are you looking for one?
COVER ONE EYE
Noah: Do our moms count as a record label?
Kenzie: We’d like to get on a label. We’ve sent labels our stuff.
Trevor: It would definitely make things easier for us as far as money and stuff.
Noah: We are gonna be picky though. We wanna get on a legit label that would be good for us. Can we please get signed to Equal Vision? Or Rise?
Trevor: Rise Records, if you’re reading this right now, well...
Noah: We love you!

ATP
What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?
COVER ONE EYE
Trevor: We’re never gonna stop. There’s no sign of Cover One Eye stopping in the foreseeable future. We’re gonna keep playing shows, keep putting out music, and keep growing as a band and as people. This is what gets us through, you can’t lose that.
Kenzie: I’d really like to get signed to a good label and release an album and tour on it.

ATP
Finally, do have any words on what Arm The Pit means to you?
COVER ONE EYE
Trevor: I mean, any way to promote our music is good. We try to be a positive band and write meaningful lyrics and be consistent to that as people. We just want to have a good message and have it be known, and this is a good way to tell people about us. I mean, we just did this interview, and we’ve never done an interview before, so it’s kind of exciting. Thank you!
