VORZUG -- is an American Old-School Blackened Death Metal band from Phoenix, Arizona, formed in 2014. The band features drummer Daniel Beck, bassist Rock Rollain, guitarist Ivan Graven Schone, and vocalist Anthony Hoyes. Many members previously worked with each other in other bands including Blood Haven, Kult Of Thorn, The Lustmord (the death metal band, not the dark ambient band) and punk rock icons Green Jelly.

Vorzug plays a unique style of metal combining elements of Modern Brutal Death Metal, Gore Metal, Black Metal, and Old-School Thrash Metal. Many of the guitar riffs, and drum arrangements from this band will not be found in most modern metal releases today, while the vocal arrangements vary from slow to mid-tempo growling/screaming with lyrical content mostly about grief, death, and varying concepts of stylized horror and occult ideals.

Vorzug are currently writing their debut album, which will be co-produced by the band and engineer/producer Michael Beck at Soundvision Recording Studios in Mesa Arizona.
